Day 13+14 #blurtselfcareathon
Doodle.
I love doodling, there's nothing like laying open a fresh piece of white paper with your rows of coloured pencils next to them ready to have your imagination bubble and spill over onto the page, with endless choices of what you can create on that page and show to the world. Doodling to me is a way to unwind and relax or get a idea that has been brewing in my mind out onto a page, or i use it as as a way to improve my art because i'm still in my infancy with being able to draw something good. Art is something that you can pick up and get into at anytime, i only got into drawing and art at 14/15 and have been on and off with it but you don't need to put pressure on yourself to be good by a certain point because all art is different, look at pablo picasso compared to someone more modern such as andy warhol. Both of their art styles are entirely different but are both beautiful in their own way. They are loved by millions of people around the globe, so don't be scared of what others will think of your doodles and art. Just make something that you think is great!
Squad
Who's your squad?
A squad can be a friend, family member, significant other, internet friend or pet or it can be something as simple as your notebook and pen. Think about it, if you're a artist you may have your squad of friends and teachers behind you, supporting you but if you don't have your notebook and pen there for you to practice on you're very unlikely to improve as a artist. Now i'll admit that i don't really have a physical squad behind me who i can talk to when i need because the last year and a half since finishing high school and transitioning to uni have been a bit detrimental to my friendships because things happen and everyone changes. It's life. But when i do have that squad there i hope to be the best type of friend i can be for them and vice versa but till that time when i'm having a bad day i can meditate, call kids helpline if its a particularly bad mental health day, cuddle one of the many pets i have or just get adsorbed into making some new art or photography to make myself that little bit better. :)
